Now that we are all moved in, I can honestly say that while we truly miss our amazing friends and family (homesickness is a really sneaky thing), Ulsan is starting to feel a little bit like home.  For the next year we will live in a cozy(tiny) one-bedroom apartment called Pretty Ville in Muego Dong.  Neil and I both teach middle school.  He teaches at Shin Jung Middle School and I teach at Ok Dong Middle School.  Thus far, we have met extremely funny, kind, and helpful people.
Although our home is tiny, it is in an awesome location.  Right across the street is the World Cup stadium and we are less than a 3-minute walk to “바보” or “Foolish” street.  Initially, we were unaware of this convenient fact.  During one of our first nights here, Neil and I decided that we would jump in a cab and attempt to find a place with “western” food to hang out for the night.  After wandering around for about an hour or so in “Old Downtown” with no luck in finding a place that would give us a little taste of home, we decided to venture back to our neighborhood.  Suddenly we noticed bright lights not far from our apartment and upon closer examination, we realized that we lived adjacent to the place that we would frequent almost every weekend in the upcoming months.
Cheers to new friends, new experiences, and a year that is shaping up to be a great decision.
